Change tears of sorrow to bliss

It was one of those hot summer days in 1974 in Brindavan. Swami had finished giving darshan & returned to His bungalow at 10:00 a.m. At around 10:45 a.m., a group of villagers from North India came to Brindavan. They were extremely poor. They had come in a run-down bus wearing very simple clothes. Many of them were in rags; but somehow they managed the fare to go around South India on a pilgrimage. They had absolutely no idea about darshan timings. When they arrived they learnt to their dismay that the darshan was over & next one would be only in the evening. Their itinerary was so packed that they would not be able to stay till the evening. As the sevadal was explaining, they started crying that they wouldn’t be able to see Swami.
Suddenly the inside gates of Swami’s bungalow opened & Swami came out! He was walking swiftly. I was keenly watching this from the college building. In those days, students had one special privilege. This was of offering Swami chappals to wear whenever He went out in the hot sun or when He had to tread on thorny, uneven surfaces. Realising that it was very hot, I ran inside to get a pair of slippers for Swami. I ran towards Swami & kept it in front of Him. Swami glared at me, turned away & proceeded to give darshan. I thought perhaps I had obstructed Swami & this act of mine resulted in Swami getting upset & turning down the slippers.
Swami went straight to those villagers, whose tears of despondency were transformed into tears of bliss. Swami enquired about their native place & very sweetly asked them to sit in rows. Then Swami walked amidst them & they took Padanamaskar. Swami was not satisfied. He called two boys & told them to get sweets from inside. Swami distributed the sweets Himself, but He was not satisfied. He ordered the boys to get photos & distributed them to all. He even distributed Vibhuti to them. 25 mins later, He returned very satisfied.
Swami says that He can wipe away tears (kanneeru tappinchu), also bring tears (kanneeru teppinchu) to your eyes. Swami while walking back, saw me crestfallen & very lovingly called me & said, “Bangaru! Did you notice, the poor people didn’t have slippers. How could I wear them when I went into their midst?” That is the love of our Lord.

Power of dress code of swamis Sevadals

Loving Sairam.... About wearing of white dress by members of Sai Organisation,  I wd like to narrate one of my experiences to all.
It was one of the the summer time of the month of May,  when many of the Sevadals of TN, on completion of their seva at Puttaparthi, we're returning back. There cannot b a better opportunity for us, as the straight train to Chennai was available on that date.  It was therefore a very big group of sevadals, who were returning. But on reaching the SSPN station, an utter disappoint was in store for us,  as it was announced that the train was,.OMG, two hours late.Though dejected, all of us started sitting in the Rly. platform, in groups and exchanged our experiences about the seva performed,  about our Swamy,  about our concerned notable Samithi activities etc.  It was extremely fascinating and we could not believe that two hours spent,  just like a moment. Then came another announcement that there was further delay of another 30 minutes for our train.
On hearing this all of us decided to have dinner,  in the platform itself,  as it was too late and all feeling hungry. It was memorable that there was a nice barter in exchanging eatables between us. All were having a small proportions of food brought by us
The climax comes only now.  As the train arrived we all boarded checked up our sleepers and settled in no time. As I was(and others too) very tired due to excessive heat of the summer time,  and late arrival of train etc, went into deep slumber very quickly. The train journey, went on and on, and I woke up somewhere near Jolarpet,  when the co-passeger,  a general public,  next to me,  narrated, what transpired during previous night when I was asleep. On hearing,  tears rolled down my cheeks for a while, as I thought of Swamy. This was the story.
The TTR came to verify the tickets and as the co-passenger was about to wake me,  the TTR quickly stopped him from waking me. He told the passenger.....
"Sir, I understand that he is the devotee of Baba as is evident from the white dress, and returning back to Chennai,  on completing his seva duty.  He looks very tired. I am sure that he will b having a valid ticket with him... So I don't disturb him now"
I was astounded on hearing this and went to tears..
Swamy swiftly modified his Tharaka Manthra from MY LIFE is my message to YOUR LIFE is my message.
It was a realisation by me on that day
Jai Sri Sairam 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Story of Shankara, the calf with Swami on his back

My father, Sanmarg Krishna Shet, and I had gone to Brindavan in September of 1970. Needing to speak with Swami, he sought an interview. Being invited for one, we were waiting near the "bungalow" as Swami's residence was called prior to Trayee. It was at around 3pm when Sri Ram Brahmam, caretaker of Brindavan and a great devotee of Swami, stopped by and spoke to us. There was a cow, by name 'Yagnamatha' munching on some grass, in a corner. Pointing to it, he said, we use the milk from this cow for Swami. But the milk is drying off. My father then sought his opinion, if he could give a cow to Swami from some that we had at home. Why don't you ask Swami, as you'll be speaking to Him shortly anyway, he replied. When my father did ask Swami during the interview about offering a cow, He said "Okay, bring the cow over and I will start Gokulam".

In the first week of December 1970, the calf was born, and sheltered in our home. To see Swami's imprint on its back, many people came home. After a few days, we decided to take the cow and calf to Brindavan in the last week of December. My parents sat in front of the lorry(truck) along with the driver, while I sat in the back along with the cow & calf amongst the bales of hay. The lorry was part of a regular service to transport roof tiles, everyday. Such an experienced driver lost his way while driving overnight, and we reached town of Pavagad in the morning, instead of reaching Bangalore/Brindavan. By the time he found his way back to Brindavan, it was 1pm in the afternoon.
While we were busy trying to find our way back from the detour, Swami was making arrangements for us. At around noon, anticipating the comfort of the cow, He got a truck to dump some mud, to create a ramp for it to get down from the truck. There was a poornakumba by sumangalis who also had turmeric, kumkum, flowers, fruits & arathi; ready for a royal reception. No one knew why they are standing or to whom the reception was. They were just following instructions from Swami.
When we entered the gates of Brindavan, Swami was waiting to receive us. They asked that the truck be parked, with the back near the mound of mud. Placing a plank from the back of the truck to the heap of mud, the cow and the calf were brought down. Pointing to where I was standing, He joked "place the plank on his head", to bring a smile after a long exhausting journey.
The sumangalis welcomed with purnakumbha, puja was performed with turmeric, kumkum and flowers and with arathi. Swami asked, does the cow eat banana? and fed them bananas. Do they eat apple, he asked, and fed them apples. The cows look like poor brahmins, he commented on their sleek physique. My father pointed out Swami's silhouette on the calf's back to Swami. I reside in all living beings, He replied. We learned later that the calf was named Shankara.

We were then treated to an unforgettable honour. Swami invited all of us to have food with Him. "Where are they?" Swami asked me, referring to the driver and cleaner of the truck. I ran out and brought them for lunch to Swami's residence. Swami was served at the table, while the five of us sat on the floor. It was a delicious feast with Basundi, bananas and many dishes. After the food, we were called into the interview room. I cannot forget the Basundi lunch even now! After talking with all of us in the interview room, He materialized 2 pendants. He gave them to the driver and cleaner. He asked the driver to stop drinking alcohol and materialized vibhuti as well for him.
In 1976, Swami took my father in his red car to show him the gokulam. It's grown a lot since then. A chance talk with Sri Ram Brahmam prompted this small offer to Swami. Swami not only accepted it, but involved Himself, spent so much time making these arrangements and blessed us all profusely. We are forever grateful to Him.

Kodai Sathsang - Swami using headphones with ipod

Brother Siddhartha who is holding the headphones tells the story.

This was taken during the 2009 trip to Kodaikanal with Bhagwan.

Swami, on one of the days, had a 'fancy' distribution of goodies. The box was brought and what came out were iPods. He handed out one to each of us.

He then watched us hold the box, and asked one of the students to open it. The unboxing was done, and Swami asked the boy to use the 'walkman' (as He had been informed).

The boy tried to explain that it needs charging, and then syncing with iTunes where one adds the songs.

Clearly unimpressed by the procedure (Could surmise that Swami lean towards Android in the OS debate?) Swami did not continue the conversation.

A few of us felt bad, that we could not show the iPod in operation.

That evening I realised that my laptop (that I had carried to be a dump for all digi cameras shooting) had iTunes! And in it was one solitary convocation drama song- Bhagwan *2 sung by the one and only Ravi Kumar sir.

Quickly I took my iPod, synced it with the library and charged it. I then went around scouting for a headphones 🎧 that weren't in-ear like the one that came in the box.

Providence was on our side, and Sai Shravanam (the son of Ramani sir, former TN State President) was in possession of one as he was in-charge of the mic system in the bhajan hall. He gladly lent it to us and we planned to play the song for Bhagwan the next morning.

With much strategy in place, we waited for a chance the next day. Bhagwan was in one of His chatty moods and began making conversation.

At an opportune moment, brother Omprasad (a face likely to impress) and I (chief of operations) asked Swami if we could show Him the iPod.

He immediately agreed.

The original idea was to keep the 🎧 inverted, and take it close to His ears without disturbing His crown of hair. As I approached with that intent, He asked me to put it on as it is usually worn. I had the opportunity to place it for Him, even as Omprasad played the song. Swami heard a few lines and was happy (of course that goes without saying, that voice has been doing that for decades).

He then said He had last used a Walkman during His kashmir trip. (can anyone recall details of that?)

The rest of the morning, then went with Swami recalling the Kashmir trip, the Abdullah family and from there to His trip to Africa.

(The headphones has pride of place in Shravanam's studio and the iPod that was used for the occasion, remains so with that solitary song)

Editorial article from New-York based magazine - The Newsweek - on Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in 1969

RARE DISCOVERY!
Here is an editorial article from the archives of the New-York based magazine - The Newsweek - on Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba where the critical piece concludes on a note of awe and respect. The article was written in 1969! Swami's glory spread so far, so quickly that even in 1969; USA's No.2 magazine carried an awe-filled and beautiful article on Him just before His 44th Birthday Celebrations. Sadly, the article was not available anywhere on the internet. Thanks to a devotee, a scan of this paper, 44 years old, was obtained. The article and the scan are both presented here. So, for easy reading a typed copy of the article is provided herewith for the convenience of all: -
------------------------------------------- Sathya Sai Baba: Newsweek: Contents November 17, 1969: RELIGION ………………………. 110

An Indian holy man builds a legend. The God-Possessed: When Sathyanarayana Raju was born, his mother recalls, the family tambura twanged of its own accord and a cobra appeared mysteriously beneath his crib. As a child, he showed mystic powers and a love of sacred verse. And one day when he was 13 years old, he returned home from school and told mother, a well-to-do matron in the village of Puttaparthi: “I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai Baba. I do not consider myself related to you. My work is waiting. My bhakthas [devotees] are waiting. Good-by. Worship me every Thursday.”

With that, Baba left home to begin the life of a god-possessed holy man. His mother pleaded with him to come back, but it was too late; throngs of Hindus were already crowding around the youth calling him “tiny prophet,” “mysteriously prodigy and “God on earth.” ‘Divine’: Such events are not unusual in India, where thousands of self-pro-claimed gurus and holy men roam, begging for living and teaching their faithful. But Baba the god-possessed is unique. He claims to be “the Lord come in human form,” a reincarnation of Krishna, one of the major Hindu gods. And thousands of devout Hindus believe that the 42-Year-old, bushy-haired holy man with flashing eyes and a voice “like the sound of a bell” can perform miracles, heal the sick and project his mind through time and space. Each November, 50,000 Indians trek to Puttaparti to celebrate his birthday.

The former chief scientist in the government’s Ministry of Defense insists that Baba is “beyond the laws of physics and chemistry, a divine phenomenon, an incarnation. Since he began leading the life of a holy man, Baba’s “miracles” have become legend throughout India. A leading lawyer swears that Baba cured him of Parkinson’s disease with a wave of his hand, and Baba is said to have walked along seashore at Cape Comorin in South India with prayer beads forming magically at his feet after each step. He reportedly produces the Bhagavad Gita and sandalwood statuettes of Krishna from the sand by magic, and once when travelling in a car that ran out of gas, is said to have turned a bucketful of water into gasoline. When a murderer appeared at his religious school disguised in holy garb, the story goes; Baba detected the villain immediately and told him: “Confess your crime. There is no escape.” And Charles Penn, and American pilot, insists that Baba miraculously appeared at his side during a crash landing in India. Stroke: But Baba probably performed his most spectacular “miracle” in 1963 at his Puttaparti School. His doctors say he collapsed with a stroke and four heart attacks, and refused medical help for a week. Then he was carried into his prayer hall and miraculously cured himself before an audience of 5,000. Baba explained that he had taken on himself the heart attacks and paralysis of “a forlorn person,” since only he could survive them.

“You may call these miracles,’ says Baba, “but for me they are just my way. For me they are no mystery. They are part of my essential miraculousness. Baba apparently showed the promise of divinity at an early age: as a school boy, he is said to have amazed his school mates by making pens, pencils and books materialize out of thin air, and once he held a teacher helplessly stuck in a chair with a mental whammy. Today, Baba leads a colorful and comfortable life, rising before dawn to lead his followers in chants and religious songs, then withdrawing for meditation. He dines on milk and sweets, and each day selects several followers for interviews and counseling. Twice each day in the morning and evening – his students throng around him for a bhajan (religious song) meeting and burn ceremonial camphor sticks. Baba tells them to lead a clean life, observe strict silence, avoid gossip and study Hindu scriptures.

Unlike nearly all Indian holy men, Baba never accepts gifts or cash contributions. Path: Westerners may remain skeptical about Baba’s miracles, but his skills as a minister and teacher are not to be lightly dismissed. Baba says his mission is dharma-samsthapana – restoring justice to the world, teaching men how to follow the ‘moral path.” Sometimes Baba’s advice is full of mystical double-talk, and sometimes he preaches the most threadbare platitudes. But occasionally he rises to the mystic simplicity that lies at the heart of Oriental religion.

Do not fall so much love with the world,” he once said. “You find out the world is mad and foolish, full of crooks and cranks. Use the world as a training ground for liberation. Stand a little apart and watch both the play and the director with produces it.” At bottom, Baba’s lasting appeal may lie not in his miracles or his claim to be Krishna reincarnated, but as one Indian Government official put it, in his “human touch, his ability to enter into the hearts of men and plant a seed of faith.” And that he surely has done. As one devout middle-aged woman put it; “He is my god. He is divine. What else do I want?”

Swamis Vibhuti

MY MEDICINE MY CURE

What is the Bhagawan's prescription for all diseases ?

In an Interview many years ago, a man from Singapore was suffering from a terrible illness (cancer). He used to keep a bottle of water mixed with vibhuthi wherever he went.

Swami called this gentleman for an Interview, saw the bottle next to him and asked,
"What is that?"
He said, "Swami, this is your vibhuthi, which I drink with water all the time."

Then Bhagawan very lovingly explained...

"Not like that.
First, take a glass. Then pour the water. Then, add vibhuthi. Afterward, stir and, while stirring,
PRAY - 'God, please help me. I am not feeling well.
Please grant me strength and health.'"

If you are not sick, you can also take this medicine and
pray, "Swami, please bless me."
Then, it will act as a tonic and put EVERYTHING in the body in order.

Should we fear the Solar Eclipse? What does Swami say?

Should we fear the Solar Eclipse? What does Swami say?

A lot of anxiety spreads every time there is an eclipse. Speaking about the phenomena on a few occasions, Swami has made it very clear that such fear is pointless. Let us take this opportunity to remind ourselves of what Swami says about eclipses

The day after tomorrow, there will be a Solar Eclipse and people are filled with apprehensions about the effects of the eclipse on the world. There is no need for fears of any kind because such events occur from time to time. The earth came out of the sun. The moon came from the earth. The moon sometimes comes between the Sun and the Earth. At those times the sun cannot be seen. This is the eclipse of the sun. When the sun, the moon and the earth are in one line, it is wrong to think that any disaster will happen to the earth. No dangers are in prospect.

- Divine Discourse, Oct 22, 1995

The shadow of the moon falling upon the sun is not the calamity that people should fear; the shadow of maya falling upon the intelligence is the eclipse that has to be treated as a bad omen, as inauspicious. The mind is the moon, the intelligence is the sun; see that they do not suffer from eclipse. Then, you are safe. Do not worry when something happens in the outer sky; worry, when the shadow of some dark desire, some foul passion, some monstrous emotion, some fell intention, casts its evil gloom over your inner sky. See that the splendour of the Lord, the cool rays of His Grace are not dimmed in the recesses of your heart.

What is the secret to win showers of Divine Grace?

What is the secret to win showers of Divine Grace? Bhagawan lovingly gives us valuable tips today.

Love unfolds first on the lap of the mother. The eyes of Love fasten themselves on the caressing face of the mother. It then spreads towards the father, brothers and sisters, kith and kin, friend and playmate, region and language, world and its Maker. The ‘I’ that lives within the body is like a lion in a cave. It is the monarch of the forest; but it limits itself to the few square feet of rocky floor. Let it come out, renouncing the petty possession. So long as you crib yourselves into the body-consciousness (I am the body), you are the lion moping in the musty cave! Do not feel, Dehosmi (I am the body). Roar  Brahmasmi!(I am Brahman) - I am all this and more, I am all this is, was, and will be. Then the littleness, time, space, ego - all will flee from your heart! You will be Love, Love, Love and nought else. That is to say, you will be Divine, one with the One. - Divine Discourse, Oct 29, 1970.

Wherever and whenever the lamp of love is shining bright, God manifests and showers His Grace.-BABA

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba - Healing Voice

#SathyaSaiBaba #HealingVoice #LordSai #Meditative #SaiCharanTV #Sairam #Bhagawan #PrashanthiNilayam #Puttaparthi #BhagawanSriSathyaSaiBaba

An engineer with RadioSai recorded an orchestra to accommodate swamis voice. He realized it fell off, something was not quite same and frequencies seem different.

He researched found that swamis pitch is almost always at 432Hz whereas  instruments are tuned to work at 440Hz.

Further research tells us the entire universe radiates at 432Hz which is very healing, soothing, and natural.

This matters because it shows the healing properties of our beloved Bhagawan’s voice, and if sound carries vibrations, and this passes of as energy, then it will heal each of us.
